Parting of the sea in Malaysia - Sasaran 天空之镜

When we think of parting of the sea, the story of Moses in the Bible will appear in our mind. I'm still amazed by the wonders of this earth that God had created, and last weekend I got to experience the parting of sea myself (Although not as magnificent as how Moses went through), Lol.

There are a few places that have this phenomenal event, and there is also one in Malaysia. There are only a few days in a month that the straits of Melaka would have tides as low that there will be the appearance of the mud flat in the center of the sea. We took the chance and quickly call the agency on this tour since there are only a few days in a month that they have this trip.

We called up a few agencies but they were fully booked and we got to be on the trip with this agency. The details are as followed.

These were some handy tips given by the travel agency,
1. Do dress as colourful as possible
2. Use the Props prepared by the agency
3. Space out during photo taking for nice pictures.

We woke up at 5:30am to travel to Jeram, Sasaran, Selangor as we have to reach by 6:30am for breakfast at the stall below.

The weather was not pleasing and it kept drizzling, so, the pictures we took at the mud flat was not up to our expectations too. We got onto the boat below by climbing down from the jetty. The jetty's stairs was steep so this trip might not be suitable for pregnant women or senior citizens.

The boat ride took half an hour to reach to the mud flat and it was still drizzling but we tried our best to capture most pictures as possible for memory purpose.

If the weather is good, the picture is supposed to be as clear as the picture below and the reflection of the person would be as clear as a mirror image on the sea floor.

The tour agency gave us 1-2 hours for the photo taking session and direct us immediately to the Swan Islan (Pulau Angsa) as the tides would cover the mud flat. We stop at the Swan Island for our lunch and toilet break.

We were given a small pack of Nasi lemak and a bottle of water. The toilet was actually a disaster to us, but we went on without thinking twice as we were having urgent nature call. Do have some mental preparation on the food and toilet break here.

The weather could be seen from this picture, thank God it was not raining when we arrive the island as there was no place for covering.

There was signal house on top of the island, it was only a 5 minutes hike to reach the top of the island (which was not well maintained).

This is the picture of the toilet, it is among one of the rooms here. You could see people fishing and on top and poeple under the bridge are actually looking for oysters to harvest. The agency also provide oyster harvest for RM5 per person, we did not opt for the oyster harvest.

After the stop at Pulau Angsa, we were ferry back to the jetty around 12:30pm and we headed for a seafood lunch for our growling tummies. We are exhausted although it is only a half day trip due to the rain and to take the jumping shots.

Oh ya, you would be able to see different birds on the way back to the jetty, beautiful creatures :)

We drove another 10Km down south to the lunch place at Restoran Sg Janggut seafood.
This restaurant is open daily from 11am to 11pm.
We did not take any pictures of the food as the urge to eat had superseded the photo capturing moment. The food is overall satisfactory except for the prawns that were not too fresh.

Enjoying our view before the food came.
